     This week, our media studies class did an exercise where we had the choice between working with a team, or alone. Naturally, I chose to work with a team because I have always worked well with others and found that I can benefit from others' opinions. During the activity, there were multiple occurrences when one of my teammates would sway my opinion to choose a different answer, and it would help my score in the end. For example, I was set on putting a shaving mirror last on the list in an activity where we had to rank fifteen items by importance if we were stranded at sea. My teammate then reminded me that I could signal boats as they were passing using the mirror and that it would be important when lost at sea.          For one of the exams in media studies, students must create either a opening movie scene or a magazine cover page. This past week, our class was introduced to the software we would be using for both of these. We interacted with the software and were tasked with choosing one of these for our final exam- either the magazine cover or the opening movie scene.       Last week our class worked on getting introduced to Premier and InDesign Pro software and it was surprisingly difficult to get the hang of at first. I had a spoil of problems with my Premiere Pro software and it would not let me edit my video in the application but I still want to try and use it because it looks like a ton of fun, and I would love to try and create my own movie intro with it.      The cover of a magazine is vital to a magazines first impression, and is a factor is if someone chooses picking that magazine up over others. My impression of all of these magazine covers were very different for each one. Covers with famous artists on them really caught my attention because it made me curious as to what these people. who's music I listen to all the time, really though about things that were going on in our world today.    One cover that stood out to me was the Rolling Stone cover with Travis Scott on it. This really caught my attention. This one stood out to me, not because of the choice of words and formatting on the front, but because of the dark aesthetic of the front of the magazine. The use of color and lighting was very good on the front of this magazine. Another cover that stood out was the GQ cover featuring Lil Baby.           The opening scenes we watch in media studies were all very riveting and were well-fitting of their spots on that list. Each intro was so good at making me want to watch the rest of the movie, from the tools that they use to the wonderfully put together scenes.       The intro to the movie Jaws was very memorable out of all of the ones we watched. From the dark ominous ocean to the horrifying screams from the person getting dragged through the water like a rag doll, this intro really put me on my toes, introduced and prepared me to the thrills that were coming up ahead. It foreshadowed the awful things that were seemingly going to happen such as people getting eaten. Another very good opener was the opening for Train Spotting.
